Ingeteam has strengthened its presence in Australia by supporting the commissioning of the Aldoga Solar Farm in Queensland, developed by ACCIONA Energía. The photovoltaic (PV) plant was brought online ahead of schedule and is designed to generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 185,000 homes, while avoiding around 934,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
The project reinforces Australia’s role as a strategic market for Ingeteam, where the company has operated through a local subsidiary for more than ten years and holds an estimated 25% market share in its segment.
Grid Compliance and System Integration
Ingeteam contributed to the project by participating in the development of grid simulation models to ensure compliance with local technical requirements for grid connection. In Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM), large-scale renewable plants must meet strict performance criteria related to voltage control, frequency response and fault ride-through capability.
The company supplied 81 turnkey power stations incorporating 157 central photovoltaic inverters from the INGECON SUN 3Power C Series. Each power station included integrated low- and medium-voltage equipment, supporting streamlined installation and commissioning.
The deployment of central inverters is typically associated with utility-scale PV plants requiring high power density and centralized control architectures. The configuration enables coordinated active and reactive power management to meet grid code obligations.
Power Plant Control and Operational Stability
A Power Plant Controller (PPC) system was also implemented as part of Ingeteam’s scope. The PPC coordinates inverter output to maintain compliance with grid operator requirements, managing parameters such as power factor, voltage setpoints and ramp rates.
This centralized control function is critical in high-capacity PV installations, where aggregated inverter behavior must align with transmission system operator standards. Effective PPC integration supports stable plant performance and predictable grid interaction under varying irradiance conditions.
Strategic Market Development
With more than a decade of operational presence in Australia, Ingeteam’s involvement in the Aldoga Solar Farm reflects continued expansion in the country’s utility-scale renewable sector. By combining inverter supply, turnkey power station delivery and grid compliance modeling, the company contributes to large-scale PV deployment aligned with national decarbonization objectives.
The Aldoga Solar Farm adds significant renewable capacity to Queensland’s energy mix while demonstrating the role of integrated inverter and control solutions in meeting stringent grid integration requirements.
