Lifting of spare superheater bundle
For operators of waste-incineration and waste-to-energy plants, reliable boiler performance and long-term service availability are critical to maintaining plant uptime and meeting environmental requirements. ANDRITZ has expanded its service activities in Germany by opening a new hub for boiler and grate technologies following the acquisition of selected assets from Wehrle-Werk AG’s boiler and grate service business.
Effective November 2025, the new service hub enhances ANDRITZ’s capabilities in energy and heat production systems for environmental waste utilization plants across German-speaking markets. The transaction includes intellectual property rights, technical documentation, specialized tools and spare parts inventory. Wehrle specialists in boiler and grate services will be integrated into the existing ANDRITZ service organization in Emmendingen, Germany.

Installation of superheater coil
Strengthening grate-fired boiler expertise
The hub reinforces ANDRITZ’s technical competence in servicing grate-fired boilers, particularly in waste-incineration and waste-to-energy applications where combustion stability and mechanical reliability are essential for continuous operation.
By combining the acquired technical know-how with its established service network, ANDRITZ expands local support capacity for inspection, repair, modernization and retrofit projects. The integration is designed to ensure service continuity for existing customers while broadening the available engineering resources.
Services will continue to be coordinated from Emmendingen. Existing customers will retain their established contacts, supporting uninterrupted project execution and maintenance planning.

Overlay welding on membrane wall
Extended service scope for thermal waste treatment systems
The expanded service portfolio covers spare and wear parts supply, field services and retrofit solutions for grate-fired boilers. In addition, ANDRITZ supports fluidized bed systems used for mono-incineration of municipal sewage sludge, where combustion control and system durability are critical for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Through the new service hub, ANDRITZ consolidates technical expertise in boiler and grate technologies while strengthening regional service capacity for waste-to-energy and environmental energy facilities.
