OMV and Masdar collaborate on a 140 MW green hydrogen project with Austria Wirtschaftsservice funding to support industrial decarbonization and integrated energy systems.

OMV and Masdar signed a binding agreement to form a joint venture to build and operate a 140 MW green hydrogen electrolyzer in Bruck an der Leitha, Austria.

Annual production of 23,000 tons of green hydrogen will make a significant contribution to decarbonization of the industrial processes at the OMV refinery in Schwechat.

Production expected by end 2027 with an annual output of 23,000 tons of green hydrogen, supplying OMV’s Schwechat refinery.

Agreement covers potential opportunities in Austria, the UAE and in Central and Northern Europe for the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives.
